Description of Classes Offered

Power Center Yoga

Power Center Yoga focuses on building core strength through mindful movement in yoga postures that strengthen the abs and lower back. Your center is the foundation for a healthy spine and building strength here can improve posture and reduce back pain. In yoga the center is considered the seat of personal power and confidence. Power Center Yoga is a challenging class that develops strength in your core to increase balance, mobility and overall vigor in  all that you do!

Hatha Flow, All Levels

A healthy body is the embarkation point for the journey to the center of our being.
— Pandit Rajmani Tigunait, PhD

Hatha Flow taps into the physical and energetic bodies with a practice that offers both fluid movement and steadiness in the pose. This transformational practice combines breathwork (pranayama), meditation and movement (asana) to assist students in being their most vibrant self.

Vinyasa, Beginner

Vinyasa classes are for those looking to move more swiftly through the yoga sequences. Maintaining a connection to breathe, Vinyasa classes use the heat that is built during class to allow students to go deeper into their yoga poses.  A beginner vinyasa class offers more introduction to the poses and sequences of Vinyasa yoga while preserving the unique results offered by Vinyasa classes.

Vinyasa, Intermediate/Advanced

Vinyasa classes are for those looking to move more swiftly through the yoga sequences. Maintaining a connection to breathe, Vinyasa classes use the heat that is built during class to allow students to go deeper into their yoga poses.  Intermedia/Advanced Vinyasa classes are for students familiar with yoga poses who are looking to deepen their already strong practice.

Workshops:

Sari offers a variety of workshops that allow students to learn more about a specific topic on yoga. She is known for making yoga concepts easy to understand and provides a space for students to learn through experience.

Introduction to Yoga

Have you peeped into a yoga class in session, but were too intimidated to  join? Have you tried to attend a yoga class, but the yoga terms and yoga flow were leaving you behind? Join Sari and unmask what yoga is in a fun and educational environment where you will receive a basic introduction to yoga, learn breathing techniques and receive instruction on basic poses. What you can expect: A brief introduction to yoga, a yoga practice, meditation and short q&a.

"Yoga consists of a set of techniques that enable you to gain access to the limitless wealth that lies dormant in your body and mind." ~ Swami Rama

INTRODUCTION TO Meditation

Meditation is a practice that is best done everyday, but where do you start? Often it's the simplicity that can pose the biggest challenge. It's helpful to have a guide that can hold the space for you to close your eyes and journey inward. Join Sari to learn and experience multiple yogic meditation techniques that you can incorporate into your life.

Yoga Nidra: Deep Relaxation for Physical and Mental Stress Relief

Yoga Nidra, also known as yogic sleep, is a healing technique to quiet the mind and body. The process of Yoga Nidra leaves the practitioner feeling refreshed and renewed, akin to a “power nap,” but better! The benefits of Yoga Nidra include relief from insomnia, increased energy, calm emotions and the deep release of physical and mental stress. Some use Yoga Nidra to plant a seed into their unconscious mind, such as a goal or desire. Whatever your reason for coming to Yoga Nidra, you will be sure to gain something from this very special ancient yoga practice and all you have to do is come ready to relax! What you can expect from this workshop: A brief intro to yoga nidra, gentle yoga stretches, and a long meditation while lying supine on the mat, using blankets for comfort.

PARTNER YOGA

Partner Yoga offers you a new way to experience yoga while finding joy in community. In these workshops you can bring a partner - friend, husband/wife, child (14+), parent - or you can make a new friend during class! Join Sari for a creative and fun experience that will give you poses to take home with you and practice with your friends. All levels are welcome!

THE ROAD TO HEADSTAND: A Shoulder and Core Strengthening Practice to Guide You Upside Down

When we commit to a regular yoga practice, we start to see that yoga is a systematic approach that builds strength and flexibility in the body and mind. With continued practice, new possibilities begin to arise, such as safely turning upside down to see the world from a new perspective. Sirsasana, headstand, is a pose known for it's ability to reduce the effects of aging, build mental focus, counter the effects of depression and improve circulation in the body. But, don't let the name fool you! Headstand is a full body pose that uses the strength of the shoulders, core muscles and legs. This workshop will include an introduction the anatomy of headstand, a yoga practice that builds up your muscle strength to prepare you for the pose, and clear instruction on how to float up into headstand with grace and ease. Headstand is a beautiful inversion to learn that builds one's calm, focused attention. Take this opportunity to learn what some call "The King of Poses."

Yoga for Energy Management

One could say that yoga IS energy management. Spend this workshop learning about how to care for your self by using yoga poses and breathing techniques to manage your energy in a way that serves you.
